Kelsey Hinchliffe is a Baltimore native who loves the Orioles and the Ravens.  She is pursuing her Ph.D. at the Department of Government and Politics with a concentration in American Politics.  She received her B.A. in Political Science and Communication from High Point University in 2012 where she also ran Division I cross-country and track and field.  In college she spent time interning for General Electric and Chapin Davis Investments.  She current works as a research assistant for Dr. Frances Lee as well as an editorial assistant for Legislative Studies Quarterly.  Outside of American government, her other interests include ballet, running and her french bulldog, Lola.

Research

  • Her current research focuses on the use of social media in congressional campaigns as well as partisan conflict in Congress. She is also interested in party leadership and their role in shaping a "winning" strategy for rank and file members.
