About Ted Gurr
A pioneer in the field of political conflict and instability, Ted Robert Gurr passed away in 2017. As a Professor Emeritus and Distinguished University of Maryland Department of Government and Politics, Dr. Gurr was internationally-recognized for his theoretical, comparative, and historical studies of societal conflict. In honor of his legacy in the field and commitment to the continued academic study of conflict, his wife Dr. Barbara Harff -- in reflection of his wishes -- establishes this endowed lecture fund with the University of Maryland College Park Foundation.
