Wayne V. McIntosh Celebration of Life
The Department of Government and Politics (GVPT) invites members of the University of Maryland community and friends of the department to join us for a Celebration of Life honoring Professor Emeritus Wayne V. McIntosh, who passed away on December 8, 2025.
For more than four decades, Wayne was a pillar of GVPT and the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS). He shaped generations of students, faculty, and staff through his scholarship, exceptional teaching, and steady leadership. Remembered for his integrity, kindness, mentorship, and passion for public law, Wayne leaves behind a profound legacy that continues to define what it means to be part of this department.
This gathering is an opportunity to reflect on Wayne’s life and impact, share memories, and honor the contributions he made to our community.

Parking Information
Free parking is available in Lots Y, L, and C. The lots are labeled in the images below. If parking is not available at the Chapel (Lot Y), please drop off your senior and disabled guests prior to proceeding to Lot L.
If Lot Y is filled:
- Exit the lot at the barrier (rises automatically when vehicle approaches)
- Turn right onto Chapel Drive
- Turn left at Regents Drive
- Take the first right into Lot L
- Access to Lot C via Lot L (Lot C access will be on the right)
- Guests may park in Lots L and C
- It is a 5-7 minute walk to the Chapel

Guests may also park in the visitor parking levels of Mowatt Lane Garage or Regents Drive Garage. For Mowatt Lane Garage, visitor parking is located adjacent to the garage and on the bottom level. For Regents Drive Garage, visitor parking is located on the top level. Pay stations for each garage are located on the visitor parking levels.
