GVPT Alumnus Jazz M. Lewis is UMD's New Director of State Government Relations

On January 5, 2026, Jazz M. Lewis ’11, M.P.P. ’14 began his new role as the University of Maryland's Director of State Government Relations. In this role, Lewis—who received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Government and Politics—will serve as the university’s primary liaison to state and local officials, and work closely with senior leadership, faculty and campus partners to advance UMD’s priorities.
