Sonia Vargas is a fourth-year PhD student in American Politics at the University of Maryland. Her research interests are race and identity politics in the United States, with a focus on second-generation immigrants. Prior to beginning at UMD Sonia received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in Political Science and Anthropology.
