Hi! I'm Sam and I serve as Chief Strategist at the Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement. At CDCE we work to mobilize the whole University of Maryland community to strengthen democracy. CDCE's work includes mobilizing UMD talent through internships and student career support, mobilizing UMD knowledge through interdisciplinary research with community partners, and mobilizing UMD convening power by using our campus to spark crucial strategic conversations. Our projects include the Washington Post-University of Maryland poll, research on voter ID, voter education in schools effective government transitions, the elections workforce, and much more! There are *so many* amazing ways for everyone in the GVPT community - undergrads, grad students, alumni, faculty, and community partners - to get involved with CDCE! 

During this coffee chat I'll share a little bit about how CDCE research is helping the public understand the 2024 election and how we are expanding efforts to support students pursuing public service careers.
