Shayna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the University of Maryland and is a nationally Certified Health Education Specialist. After participating in a peer educator program as a student, she joined the University Health Center team as a professional staff member as the Sexual Health Program Assistant. This role continued to grow her interest in higher education and student support more broadly, which led her to a job in the UMD Office of the Provost. Prior to joining GVPT, Shayna worked as an Assistant to the Provost, where she gained further knowledge on university academics and student supports. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health Degree, with her specific areas of interest being health promotion and wellness for university students and university systems to support student wellbeing.
