Associate Professor of American Politics, Stella Rouse, published a piece in the Washington Post's Monkey entitled "Republicans' hard-line stance on immigration may alienate Millennials for years." Drawing on the findings of her 2018 book, The Politics of Millenials (co-authored w/ Ashley Ross), as well as Millenial voting habits in the recent mid-term election, Dr. Rouse identifies how Republicans' hard-line immigration policy is a contributing factor in driving Millenials away from the party and into the arms of Democrats--a trend that may be permanent, or at least difficult to undo, according to her research.
