New Feller Research Professor, Dr. Stacy Kosko

Chincoteague Hall and greenery

Dr. Stacy Kosko, an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Government and Politics, has been named the new Joel J. Feller Research Professor. This esteemed position was granted in recognition of her outstanding dedication to teaching undergraduate students. She will hold the position until June 2025.

The Feller Faculty Fund was established in 2015 and seeks to support the recruitment and retention of highly qualified faculty in the Department of Government and Politics. Joel Feller was a 1990 graduate of the department and is a former member of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation Board of Trustees.

Dr. Kosko's research focuses on development ethics, human rights, and severely marginalized populations and she has expertise in human-centered development, project design, and the ethics of innovation. She will use the Feller award funds to support a research project focusing on marginalized youth (under 35) activists from 11 countries—the barriers they face, and the strategies they deploy to drive successful social and political change.
