Chase received his Ph.D. in the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2023, specializing in international political economy. He is also an Economic Fellow at the U.S. Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. His interests include the political economy of instability and conflict, international credit and investment, and international cooperation and trade. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, he worked in the investment management industry and served as an engineer officer in the U.S. Army.

Chase holds a BS in Economics and a B.A. in International Politics from Penn State University.
