Harriet Goers is a PhD student in the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research interests include civil war, rebel governance, and third-party intervention in conflict. She holds a B.A. (Hons I) in Economics and Political Science from the University of Sydney. Prior to starting her PhD, Harriet was a Research Fellow with the Institute for Economics and Peace, an analyst with the Australian Department of Defence, and a Research Assistant with the Lowy Institute. She is currently serving as an expert peer reviewer of predictive models for the United Nations OCHA Centre for Humanitarian Data.
