Katherine Sawyer is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research interests include: civil conflict and rebellion, biopsychological predictors of political violence, and spatial/computational models of conflict. She holds a master’s degree in quantitative methods from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and an undergraduate degree in violin performance and economics (minor) from Baylor University. Katherine's research has been published in International Organization and Journal of Conflict Resolution. She is also a visiting researcher at the Institute for Genome Science, University of Maryland, Baltimore.
