Evelyn/Zihan Zhu is a PhD student at the GVPT Department with a primary field in International Relations and a secondary field in Comparative Politics.
Evelyn currently studies the interaction between domestic political institutions & actors and foreign policy decision-making (particularly regarding international trade) with a country-specific interest in Japan due to its uniqueness among democracies. He also takes some interests in electoral politics (specifically political dynasties), and the emerging trend of global authoritarianism. He currently works as a research assistant to Prof. Todd Allee on a project related to international institutions.
