Recently, GVPT student May Soe Min took the stage at the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) policy summit. Serving as a panelist on the Youth Mental Health panel, May shared her story as a first-generation Asian American, refugee, and daughter of immigrants. She discussed the unique mental health challenges that many first-gen Asian American youth face, including navigating cultural divides, confronting stereotypes, and adapting to unfamiliar systems.

This opportunity underscores May’s advocacy work and highlights the importance of accessible mental health resources for youth across the nation.

Please join us in celebrating May’s commitment to mental health awareness and her drive to make a difference!
