Support The Department of Government and Politics

Chincoteague Hall and greenery
At the Department of Government and Politics, we prepare our students to “be the solution" and become leaders in government, law, and public service. Today, you can directly support their success by contributing to six key funds that provide hands-on learning, expand access to opportunities, and advance vital research.

Here’s more about each fund:

moot

Dr. Michael O. Spivey Moot Court Program Support Fund

These funds are used to help students step into the shoes of Supreme Court counsel as they sharpen their legal reasoning, public speaking, and advocacy skills. Your support provides faculty mentorship and experiences that prepare them for careers in law and beyond.

global

GVPT Global Learning Program Fund

The GVPT Global Learning Program Fund ensures all students—regardless of financial background—have access to global experiential learning. Your gift funds travel grants and subsidizes trips to Washington, D.C., connecting students with real-world political institutions and global perspectives.

wayne

Watch this video to see how past gifts have transformed the lives of our students and alumni, empowering them to succeed in their academic and professional journeys.

Maryland Giving Day is your chance to be part of something bigger. Your support doesn’t just fund programs—it creates opportunities, shapes futures, and drives real change.

Thank you for your continued support of GVPT!
